One more thing, one more thing...
My plan was to stay at home all day and do absolutely nothing. But did it happen that way? Of course not. Although I was glad that I was able to sleep in, I still managed to make my way to the mall, with a tiny voice telling me "don't go... don't go..." OK, so maybe there were no voices but I still ended up going to the mall. But it was shopping for me this time. I needed to get (notice how I say "needed" =P) a shirt for tomorrow's Christmas dinner at the bf's parents' house (no big deal, I've met them before so everything should be fine). I got the shirt, ran a couple errands with my mom, and we headed back home. Surprisingly enough, the mall wasn't as busy as I expected it to be. I guess everyone finished their shopping last night.

But you'd think that it stopped there. Oh god, no! I ended up picking up one more thing for the bf. Then I finally went home.

So now, I have no choice. Even if I still wanted to go shopping (which I don't), I can't because everything is closed. I'm really thinking that going away next Christmas will be a good idea. That way, I don't have to worry about picking up one more thing...

Hello everyone...
I know, I know, it's been almost a month since I last blogged. I admit, I haven't made time for it, but all this holiday stuff has taken up quite a bit of my time. Not to mention spending time with the boyfriend, etc.

Ready for the holidays... I think
I set a goal for myself to have all my Christmas shopping done for the middle of the month. And I was able to accomplish that. The only problem is that I feel like I still need to pick up a couple things. And I probably will end up doing some last minute shopping within the next couple of days. Ugh. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I actually do not like shopping at this time of year.

A little blah
Is it just me, or does anyone else have the holiday blues? I'm not sure if it's the atmosphere, or the weather, or what, but it just doesn't seem like Christmas around here. I had the Christmas music on earlier to get me going, but that didn't seem to help that much. As much as I don't like snow, perhaps if we had just a wee bit more, it would feel a bit more Christmas-y. We've been having pretty mild weather lately, so there isn't much snow on the ground. Maybe I'll get the Christmas spirit once we have our dinner tonight (since my dad has to work over the holidays, we're having Christmas dinner early this year).

Lazy Sunday
I haven't had one of these in a very long time. I slept in, had breakfast, did some laundry, had lunch, and I think I'm going to take a nap. Maybe I'll watch some Christmas shows or something...

Hockey Night in Edmonton
I was fortunate enough to be one of the 57,000+ fans to watch the Heritage Classic over the weekend. It was pretty cool to be there and watch the Edmonton and Montreal alumni play hockey outdoors. Watching the Oilers alumni again reminded me of when I was younger and watched hockey. Back then, I knew all the players, and to see them play again was great.

It was very cold, but I was prepared. I wore 4 out of 5 layers on top (tank top, wool turtleneck sweater, fleece sweater, and ski jacket - I brought a fleece vest just in case); 3 layers on the bottom (long johns, jeans, snowboard pants); and 2 pairs of socks (angora, fleece). I also had my toque, scarf, mitts, and a blanket to top it all off. And I have to say, I was quite toasty. I started to feel cold toward the end of the first game - my cheeks, toes, and fingers (only because I kept taking my hands out of my mitts to fix my scarf around my face). Chicken noodle soup helped to warm me up.

One of the non-game highlights had to be the streaker. About half way through the game, when the play was stopped, this guy comes running out of the stands with just a toque, a shirt, and one sock (I'm not sure where the other sock was =P). He ran out to the middle of the stadium, jumped on the advertisement boards and slid down. He did this for about 3 minutes - running and sliding, dodging security in the process. He even managed to lose his toque and shirt, leaving him with just the sock. He was finally pinned down by several cops, and they held him face down in the snow for about another 3 minutes. I wonder if he got "frost bite"? They escorted him out with a jacket tied around his waist, but he didn't seem to have a care in the world. The things people will do to get attention...

We decided to leave after the first game, since that's all we planned on watching. If the weather was permitting, we would've watch the second one. But since it got colder, we headed home.

OK, let's blog...
Yes, I know. It's been 3 weeks since I last blogged. But I've been super busy at work lately, since my supervisor is in Peru. And since I've had quite the hectic week, why not take a break and blog.

Fun in the sun
Mexico was such an awesome trip! Without getting into too much details [what happens in Mexico, stays in Mexico ;-)], we hung out on the beach, had a few drinks, played beach volleyball, took merengue lesson, did a bit of shopping, went kayaking, went to Las Caletas (check out Vallarta Adventures), and sat in the sun. I was super dark when I got back, but now I'm slowly losing my tan. Oh well, I could always go back to the tanning booth.

It's finally winter
While we were gone, we heard that it got really cold here. Thank goodness we were in Mexico. I was afraid of coming back to -30C, but fortunately it was pretty mild. The weather has been mild until yesterday, when it snowed. Ugh. At first they said we'd only get up to 5 cm, but it seems like twice that. As long as they street cleaners can keep the roads clear of the white stuff, then there's no problem.

Have you ever seen a lumberjack in a VW Beetle?
It looks kind of awkward. OK, maybe he wasn't a real lumberjack (I mean, what would he be doing in the city?!). (I wish I had a picture) But imagine a lumberjack dude with a beard, wearing the typical red and black checkered flannel jacket and a toque with the ear flaps, and driving a yellow VW Beetle. It was just weird when I saw stop at the intersection. Maybe it wouldn't have been so weird if he was driving a truck?

What a week!
Between work, belly dancing, kickboxing, and birthday stuff, it's been a hell of a week!

Recycled balloons
Since it was my supervisor's birthday last week, he decided to recycle the balloons that his friend sent him, and passed them on to me. He added the personal touch by writing my name and "Happy Brithday" on a couple of balloons. Too bad he didn't have spell check... ;-)

Recycled cookies - well, not really...
Along with the balloons, he also got some cookies which he also passed on to me and made it more personal by writing my name on it. Eh, why not?!

Ritual Friday
After kickboxing, it was off to Irma's for our Sex in the City night. We were missing one member, but she was with us in spirit...

Happy Birthday to Me!
Finally, it was my birthday on Saturday. Yay! The big 3-0. The number one question that people asked me was "How does it feel?" Honestly, I don't feel any different. I still feel like I'm 12 - just kidding =P! But really, how am I supposed to know what it feels like to be 30, when I haven't experienced being 30? I think people should ask that question when the person turns 31, and then maybe the response will be different?

Anyway, I had to go in to work that morning. I know, I should get my birthday off, but I kind of had no choice. Besides, it was only for a couple of hours anyway. When Irma got there, she surprised me with a mini birthday cake. I wasn't really paying attention to her at first, but then I heard her flicking her lighter and thought "uh, is she lighting a cigarette in here?" Apparently, she was lighting the candle on my mini cake. Duh!

Where's my spotlight?
I was a bit upset when I didn't get any mail/phone call from my relatives to wish me Happy Birthday. I know it might sound a bit shallow, but hey, it's my day so why shouldn't I expect these things? I mean, they've always acknowledged it every other year, so why stop now? Or do these kind of things stop when you hit 30? Even Irma was getting more phone calls than me and her birthday was 2 months ago!

Ring, ring, ring...
After work, I had planned on taking a nap so that I would be refreshed for the evening. Just when I'm about to doze off, the door bell rings. There was a flower delivery for me from my aunt and uncle. My mom put them in water for me, and I tried to go back to sleep (key word is tried). A few minutes later, the door bell rang again. This time it was my brother who came by to pick up some hockey tickets. And about 10 minutes after that, the phone rang. A friend of mine called to wish me happy birthday. We ended up chatting for a while because I hadn't talked to her since February. And about another 10 minutes after that, another friend of mine called. So much for worrying about my spotlight... =P

Birthday movie
Since I wasn't able to get a nap in, I got ready for the evening. Irma, Rick and I went to see Kill Bill. I must say, I liked that movie. Although I wasn't as tired as Irma was, it was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was how they ended it. It just stopped. For a moment I thought that maybe a scene would come back on, but it was the credits. Now I definitely have to see the next one.

Surprise Dinner
After the movie, the three of us headed to Donna's for dinner. Joi and Phoun were meeting us there. I know, it doesn't sound like much for my 30th birthday, but I didn't want to make a big deal about it. I thought about doing a theme party, but with Mexico and all my other stuff, I couldn't find time to plan it. So I settled for dinner and a movie. Anyway, we got to the restaurant and as we walked in, one of the servers asked if we were with the "birthday party". I thought to myself "Birthday party?? There's only going to be 5 of us?!". Little did I know that Irma had planned a surprise dinner for me. I walked in and there were my parents, my brother and sister-in-law, and a few other friends. I was definitely surprised! The weird thing was, I kinda had a feeling that Irma was up to something when she talked to my co-worker and he started laughing and wrote things down on a piece of paper. I was tempted to look at what he wrote down, but I didn't. I even thought that maybe Irma planned a birthday party at this kid's restaurant because she mentioned it before. Thank goodness she didn't go with that plan. ;-)
    Highlights:
  • Hachi-chi-chi
  • my moment
  • cougar - no, not me, but it was a name of the drink I had at the restaurant =P

Party on
After dinner, it was off to the usual for some drinks. I admit, I had a few (OK, 5) but hey, it's my birthday. It ended up being a good night, compared to what happened last year. [Let's just say, I was carried out...]

3 more sleeps
Only 3 more sleeps until Mexico. I can't wait!! I'm starting to panic because I haven't packed yet. Ugh. I definitely have to do that tonight...

I really need to blog more...
...not because I have to, but to release some of this info in my brain to prevent it from crashing. I miss using this as an outlet to release my frustrations or to record the day's events. So, since it's been 2.5 weeks since I last blogged, here's a re-cap of what's happened:
  • I got together with a friend mine who I haven't seen since the summer. We went out for brunch and it was nice to catch up on things. She had an emotional moment, but that's because she's pregnant.
  • Thanksgiving dinner was at my aunt & uncle's house this year. There was about 15 of us, and we just had a quiet evening.
  • I had a "me day" last week. I took the day off from work and did stuff for myself. The day consisted of running errands, hair appointment, picked up Mexico tickets (yay!), massage, and a bit of shopping. I need to have more days like this...
  • I'm into day 9 of wearing my contacts. I dropped off my glasses at the optical place to get custom clip-ons for them. I was hoping they had my frame in stock so that I wouldn't have to give them my glasses. But since they don't carry my frame anymore, I'm stuck with wearing my contacts until next week. Ugh. They wouldn't be so bad if my eyes didn't get so dry. Eye-drops don't really help either.
  • I've been to 3 belly dancing classes so far, and I'm having so much fun with it. We'll see if I go on to Level 1.
  • Irma, Irene, Larry and I went to the corn maze this past Saturday, as part of my pre-birthday celebration, and it was a lot of fun. In order to find your way out of it, the maze was divided into 2 phases, where you had to find posts 1-5 and 6-10 by answering certain questions. Phase 1 (posts 1-5) was no problem. But we had a hell of a time trying to find post 6! I think it was because the whole maze was pretty much dried up and yellow, so the posts were somewhat camouflaged? Maybe next time we'll do it in the dark.
  • I bought another swim suit for Mexico, which puts me at 3.5. I say 3.5 because the one top can be worn with another bottom. I'm contemplating on whether or not I should get another suit, or just get another bottom, or just stick with what I have? Decisions, decisions...

And now in current news...
The car search has been put on hold. I haven't made the time to shop around for insurance, so trying to get a new vehicle by the end of the month is pushing it. Perhaps I should focus on something else?

Birthday Lunch - Take 1
The one thing I like about birthdays is that everyone (well, almost everyone), wants to take you out for lunch/dinner/coffee/drinks/etc, but they all have different schedules, so you end up celebrating your birthday over a week or two. I had my first birthday lunch today, minus the person who was supposed to take me out. Raincheck. Luckily, my supervisor came with me, so I didn't have to eat alone.

Birthday Dinner - Take 2
My supervisor and I, along with two other co-workers, went out for some Thai food. As usual, there was way too much food, but it was so good! Thank goodness I was able to walk some of it off...

So how old am I turning?
Take a guess. OK, maybe not. But can you believe I'm actually turning 30?!?! I told my boss that and he didn't believe me. The weird thing was when I told him, it was only then that it sunk in that I was turning 30. Sure, I've mentioned it before that I was turning 30 this year, but it didn't finally hit me until I told him. I think it was because (i) I don't feel anywhere near 30, and (ii) since my boss is obviously older, the fact that I'm turning 30 kind of puts me in the same "age bracket" as him. It's like turning 30 puts you in this kind of "elite" group. I've heard somewhere before that as you get older, the gap between older people gets closer. Being 30 and associating with people up to 10 years older than you, is not as bad as being 10 and associating with twenty-somethings.

For now, I'm still 29...

10 more sleeps...
... until Mexico! Yay! I'm so looking forward to this vacation and relaxing. I mean, I'll be doing stuff but it'll be more laid back. I really need to start packing soon. I was planning to do it over the weekend, but it didn't happen. I definitely have to do it this weekend...

A night out with the ladies
After a bit of coordinating through email, Irma, Lynne, Sue and I met at Jeffery's Café & Wine Bar for coffee and dessert. It was nice to catch up and plan the next outing. After a couple hours, we all headed home.

How do you empty the water out of the washing machine without going through the entire cycle?
Once I got home, I decided to do some laundry. I separated my clothes into colors and darks, and turned on the washing machine. No big deal, except for the fact that we didn't have any fabric softener. Uh-oh. Here I have the washing machine slowly filling up with water, and I realize that I'm not going to be able to do laundry. So how do I empty the machine out, without having to scoop out the water? I switched it to the spin cycle and it emptied out. I wasted a bit of water, but it wasn't that much. So what do I do now? I suppose I could watch tv...

Why are there certain words in my blog that are highlighted, after I've published my post?
For some reason, after I publish my posts, certain words are highlighted in yellow (or maybe another color depending on your computer) that are linked to search.targetwords.com. Is this a new feature with Blogger? Is there a way of eliminating this? I've tried going into my post and deleting the tag, but somehow it automatically appears?

New stuff
OK, so it's been exactly a month since my last post. Again, due to computer problems at home and the inability to blog while I'm at work, doesn't give me much of a chance to blog. But as you can see, I have been able to sneak in some time to finally get this blog going (note the fall colors). So what have I been up to in the past month? Well, in no particular order:
  • Scuba Diving - After finishing my swimming lessons, my instructor gave me a free pass for scuba diving. It involved some class time, and then we were able to do dives in a pool. At first I didn't have a problem with it, but after a while, I just couldn't get used to the equalization. I tried all the tricks to relieve the pressure in my ears, but it didn't work. In the end, it was just uncomfortable. So much for scuba diving, but at least I got to try it. Another thing I didn't like about it was the fact that the tank ruined my bathing suit. Ugh. But this gives me an excuse to buy another one ;-)
  • I paid for my Mexico trip (which btw is 29 sleeps away). I can't wait to go!
  • My mom celebrated her birthday on the 24th. We just had a quiet dinner at home.
  • Irma and I went shopping and due to her bad influence (I trained her well =P), I ended up buying another pair of shoes, which now puts me at 47 (am I really at 47?!).
  • Irma and I went to watch a hockey game. It was only a pre-season game against Minnesota, so it was OK. We just couldn't get into it and it seemed like we were just watching tv?
  • The girls (Irma, Irene, Jo Anne) and I finally have our Sex in the City nights. And the weird thing is, it's the final season.
  • Irma and I went shopping for a car. Yup, I'm thinking of getting a new vehicle. The MPV is just too big for me, plus it's time for a change.
  • Belly Dancing - I've decided to take belly dancing. It's something I've always wanted to try so I thought 'why not?' I've only been to one class so far, and it's a lot of fun. The instructor was right when she said that we'd be moving muscles we didn't know we had.

I think that's about it. With this new blog, hopefully I can keep it up-to-date...

A day at the lake
Due to the long weekend, all managers (including myself) had a day off yesterday and spent it at my boss' lake, where he has a cabin and a boat. We played some beach volleyball, and some of us went for a ride on his boat, while a few were tubing. It was fun to watch a few of the guys flip over into the water, and I would've liked try it, but due to a certain "thing", it prevented me from going into the water. It was so laid back and peaceful out there. Makes me wish I had a cabin and a boat at the lake...

New Blog for Me
After having some problems with my first blog, I decided to start another one. I sent a trouble-shooting request to Blogger, but obviously got no response. So, why not start fresh.

Busy, busy, busy
Based on my posts, or lack thereof, you can tell that I haven't had much time to sit in front of the computer - a combination of being busy with preparations for my brother's wedding; technical difficulties with my computer; troubles with Blogger; and just not being home. But now that my brother's wedding is over, it's time to get my life back in order. It may seem like I haven't blogged since July, but I did have some posts that weren't published so I copied them here:

    Sunday, August 24

    I'm still here
Major blog slacking for me. That's because I've been really busy with my brother's wedding. But thank goodness it's all over now. Now I can get some rest. So what have I been up to? Well (in no particular order):
    • volunteered at the Edmonton Dragon Boat Festival
    • last minute errands for my brother's wedding
    • Irma's birthday celebration at Mikado (dinner) and Ceili's (drinks) [where she managed to guess what I got her for her birthday (it was Christmas all over again)]
    • last minute tanning session before the wedding
    • wedding rehearsal & dinner

    Wedding Day
What a busy day! Without getting into too much detail, it was a long day. We:
    • went to the salon bright & early at 7:15am
    • got our make-up done
    • went to Shelley's house to get dressed
    • got to the church at approximately 10:30 am
    • got through the ceremony (without crying)
    • spent 2.5 hours taking pictures
    • to the hotel for the reception for some fun, fun, fun!

    Friday, August 8

    Wedding assignment
For Shelley's stagette tomorrow, my assignment was to find a veil. So my plan was to go to Wal-Mart, pick up some fabric, a tiara to attach it to, and I'd be done with it. Well, it didn't quite happen as planned. I walked into Wal-Mart and headed straight for the fabric section.

    Minor distraction
Everything was going well until I got distracted by the shoe section. I've been looking for a certain casual, lace-up shoe but never really found a pair that I liked. I actually preferred the men's styles over the women's. Anyway, as I was walking up and down the aisles, I noticed a pair of boys' shoes that were similar to what I was looking for. So I picked up a size 5, tried them on, and now my shoe inventory is 44. At the time, I was on the phone with Joi and he tried to stop me from buying shoes, but it didn't work. Hey, you can't go wrong for $14.77! And they're suede too!

    Back to the assignment
So after I picked up a pair of shoes, I finally made my way to the fabric section. All I was looking for was some tulle, but do you think I could find it? I looked everywhere, and then finally found some underneath the cutting table (now, how are people supposed to know to look there?). $1.97 later, I got my tulle. Next, was to look for a tiara. So I went to the toy department and found what I was looking for right away. The only tough part was trying to figure out which style she'd like. It was a toss up between one with a butterfly on it (Shelley has a thing for butterfiles) and this flowery one. I went with the flowery one since the stones in the tiara were pink and that's her favorite color.

Conclusion: Wal-Mart is bad for me
First, I hate trying to find parking. I try to park in the same area each time I go, to avoid the "dude where's my car" scenario. The store itself is way too big, with way too much stuff, thus causing "distractions" (as mentioned above). I find it almost impossible to just go in there, pick up what you have to, and leave within a matter of 15 minutes because of these "distractions". Then there's the checkout lines. Whether you're in the express line or not, there is always a huge ass line. And what's with Wal-Mart being constantly busy? I mean, no matter when you go, the place is packed. Don't these people work? To avoid all the people, I tried going first thing in the morning on a Tuesday once and it was busy. What can you possibly need on a Tuesday morning? I try to avoid Wal-Mart as much as I can, but when I do go, it's easy for me to get lost in the store and lose track of time. The wedding assigment I mentioned earlier should've only taken 20 minutes. Instead it took almost an hour. *sigh*.

    Thursday, August 7

    Check in the mail
I got my refund check for my Hawaii-trip-that-didn't-happen-because-the-airline-I-booked-it-with-went-bankrupt. Yay! And it couldn't come at a better time. It's only for half of what I paid, but at least it's better than nothing. And according to the letter, there might be another distribution of funds. I'm not going to hold my breath on that one, but if they want to send me another check, they're more than welcome to. ;-)

    Blogger update
It's still not publishing. I sent them an inquiry, but I guess they have other stuff to deal with? I hope they solve the problem soon...

    Tuesday, August 5

    It's been a while
I didn't realize it's been a week since my last post. Time is definitely getting faster and faster, especially now that summer is about to end. You can usually tell summer is almost over when you notice the fall clothes are out. Ugh. But I have to say, we definitely have had some great weather the past couple of weeks. It's been hot and dry, but I like it. So what's happened in the past week?...

    I can swim
Well, sort of. I can float, do front crawl, back & side glides, and sculling. The only thing I didn't accomplish was treading water. But apparently with practice, I'll be able to get it.

    Make-up
Can you believe it, I actually bought make-up?! I don't wear make-up, except lipstick (and if I had to wear it, it was for special occasions but even then I just used some of my mom's stuff), but with my brother's wedding coming up, apparently I have to wear a bit of make-up for photos, etc. Whatever happened to "au naturale"? If I had it my way, I'd just wear lipstick and be done with it. Now I have pressed powder and blush and a new shade of lipstick. Although I must admit, I had a bit of fun when the MAC artist was doing my make-up, giving me ideas on how to wear it, but still look natural. The last thing I need is to get into make-up and have to buy all the shades and brushes, etc. Oh, to be a girl... =P

    Wedding Shower
Shelley's bridal shower was this past weekend. It was OK, and we played a couple games and I won a couple prizes. I also had a meeting with the other bridesmaids about the upcoming stagette (which is this weekend).

    Heritage Festival
I made my appearance this year. I wasn't sure if I was going to go or not, but my mom wanted to check it out so we went. Basically it's the same thing every year - lots of food, lots of people, but this year we had better weather.

    Day off... again
If you haven't already guessed, I have the day off. Yesterday was a civic holiday, but since I had to work, I'm taking today off. I really like having a flexible schedule.

    So what's the plan?
I'm not too sure what else I have to do today. Probably some wedding stuff (perhaps I'll wrap up the MC stuff; and wrap my brother's gift which is still sitting in the back of my car). And maybe I'll just lounge around. I haven't done that in a while...

    Tuesday, July 29

    ...to be continued...
So after Irma and I went for lunch on Friday, I didn't know what to do. Everything I had planned on doing was accomplished well before I had to meet Irma. I thought about doing some laundry, but that didn't happen. Instead, I took a nap for 4 hours. Yup, 4 hours. I guess you could say I was really tired? By the time I got up, I was hungry so I got something to eat. It was a pretty quiet evening and I ended up just staying home.

    Day off 2
I had Saturday off as well, so my mom and I went to the mall in the morning. She had to return a top she got, and I had to pick up some toiletries. But in addition to that, we ended up shopping and I got this, as my mom called it, "survivor" outfit - khaki green capris and a jungle-print kinda top. She said I look like I should be on Destiny Child's Survivor video. Yeah right. I was doing so well by not buying anything for the longest time, but I guess sooner or later I had to cave. Ugh. I just don't want to spend too much money right now, especially since I'm saving up for Mexico.

After we were done shopping, Irma and I were supposed to play tennis. Only problem was she did what I had done the day before - sleep. She ended up sleeping all afternoon, so we didn't get a chance to play. Oh well. There'll be other times to play. Hmmm, sleep seems to be the new trend nowadays...

    BBQ
Once Irma finally got up, we headed to Joi's house for a BBQ, but we ran into a couple of problems: (i) Joi's house is way on the northeast side of town (I've never been that far before); and (ii) the map he provided us was wrong (But at least he put a note saying if we got lost to call him. Uh OK???). Irma and I even found alternate routes to his house. Sorry Joi, but maybe you should just leave the maps to Mapquest.com. hehehe =P

    Softball Sunday - Final Game
We technically had our final ball game on Sunday. I say "technically" because it was the last game of the season, but since one of our earlier games was cancelled due to rain, we have to have a make-up one. And then playoffs are in a couple weeks. I'm not sure if our team will make the playoffs, but it was fun nonetheless. Anyway, we won our last game 20-11 and the team we played against were a fun bunch. After the game, it was off to another BBQ with a whole lotta food. (I really need get back into the gym...)

    Friday, July 25

    I don't get it...
I don't understand why my posts aren't being published??

    Another day off
The morning started with an early hair appointment. I'm not sure why I scheduled it for 9:00 am, but I did. I could've scheduled it for a later time, but I figured this way, I'd get the day going early. OK, maybe just a bit too early for a day off. Anyway, after my hair appointment, I went to my travel agent to pay for my travel insurance. That took a whole 5 minutes, so by 10:10 am I didn't know what to do. Irma and I are planning to go for lunch at 1:00 pm, so until then, I'm sitting in Irma's office, killing time, waiting for her to go for lunch. I don't think I'm really supposed to be here, since this is the law court office, but there's no one here so I don't think anyone will mind. I'm not sure if the three people in this office realize that I'm here. Maybe it's because "I'm not really here" =P

Hmmm... what else can I do? I'm starting to get hungry. Perhaps I'll come up with some kind of "deep thought" or something while I sit here...

    Hacé calor!
OK, so I'm trying to practice a little spanish... Anyway, we've been having some unbelievable weather the past week. Not that I'm complaining, but it's just a bit uncomfortable to go to sleep. My window is wide open, but there's not much of a breeze coming in. *sigh* Hopefully it'll cool off so I can get some sleep...

    Irene's Birthday Celebration - part 2
The plan was to go to Earl's for dinner on Saturday night. Since Irma and Irene were running a wee bit late, I went to the restaurant to get a table. As I was sitting on the patio, I noticed that there were a lot of inter-racial couples. [This is what happens when you leave me alone. I have nothing better to do than to observe. I almost blogged on a napkin...]. Black guy with white girl, white guy with black girl, etc. Irma and Irene came shortly after, and Jo Anne arrived a little while after that. We started off with a martini, then ordered dinner.
      Highlights:
    • Irene has an allergic reaction after 2 sips of her martini
    • Jo Anne and her "intellectually stimulating conversation" (topics included: definition of a yuppie, glad vs. happy)
    • bug landed in Irene's martini (swim bug, swim... backstroke...backstroke...)
    • *tapping ear* "inner hearing breakdown, inner hearing breakdown"
    • guy from next table asked "did you see her shoes?" - uh, OK??!??
    • "Are those 2 guys gay?

We laughed quite a bit and were getting a few looks from nearby tables. Hey, we were having fun...

    Dancing Queen
That was Irene at the Druid. You could tell she was having a blast because she was out of control on the dance floor. ;-)

    Softball Sunday
We won both ball games on Sunday. Yay! We won the first game 15-7, and the second 16-6. I had a good game in that I made a few good plays, and also managed to score 3 runs (usually, I don't even make it to first base - I'm still talking about softball here - for those of you who may be thinking of something else =P). I almost pulled a muscle in the first game. And by the end of the second game, my legs were getting sore. I haven't ran like that since junior high/high school. I really need to get back into shape...

    FYI
Reblogger works now. So you can post messages now... =P
